Fare Che Lei Ama e…the healing with follow. It’s not just a chapter title in the book. These are words I live by, or at least I try my best to. I’m often surprised when I realize something I love was available and right under my nose and for who knows how long before I finally woke up to it. Today was one of those days, so it got me to writing…
I realized that I’d yet to update you all on my list from Chapter 13 where you write down three things you want to look forward to after chemo. It had been about six months since my last round of chemo and I hadn’t even come close to doing any of them. I had a bit of money come in and so the time was right to do one, so after paying off some medical bills I sat down and looked over my top three (well, four):
What: Swim with Whale Sharks
Where: Isla Mujeres, Mexico
What: 3 Amigas Trip to Italy
Where: Naples to Amalfi
What: European Summer
Where: England, Ireland, Scotland and France
What: Record a Full Length CD (CD II)
Where: San Diego, Ca?
It was decided that whatever it was, it would happen on my birthday, September 22nd, to make up for the last two less than stellar ones and to celebrate that well, that I’m here to celebrate~
That left out Mexico, because the Whale Shark season ends the first week of September. Ireland was a close second, but I’d already promised my dear old friend Miriam that I’d come to visit her and the boys in France next August and unless somebody out there knows something I don’t, I’m pretty sure I can only swing one of these a year. I wanted to record the full length CD I’ve been dreaming of for years now, but there’s a big part of me that wants to wait until my body and energy are closer to normal. Especially since the likes of the great Osni would be capturing it on film~
So, Italy wins~ It was supposed to be a three Amigas trip (Saysha, Meredith and Me), but Meredith couldn’t get the time off. She was kind enough to give her blessing though, in exchange for a promise that we didn’t dare go to Ireland without her. A pact which we solemnly swore to.
September 19th, 2012, just three days before my birthday I was Italy bound, and here’s how it went…
