Ok, I’ll admit it. I’m from the TV generation and so the first thing that springs to mind when I read this is “Ohhhh, so that’s what Dharma’s (of the Dharma and Greg show) name means…”
7 – The Law of Dharma
Seek your higher Self. Discover your unique talents. Ask yourself how you are best suited to serve humanity. Using your unique talents and serving others brings unlimited bliss and abundance.
Why does its seem to me that most every law points back to chapter 13 “Do What You Love and The Healing Will Follow”?
Seeking your higher self…I’d say it more like “dig down deep and tap that reserve within you”, but that’s my gist of it. Y’know like how a woman taps into her reserve to find the energy to give birth to a baby or someone swims against a strong current to rescue another person or animal. We all have it. We all have the ability to tap into it and that’s exactly what I did. Only instead of one massive and momentary burst of it, I tapped into it like a needle through the bottom of a styrofoam cup and let it slowly seep out . The better, stronger more positive version of me. I tapped into the part of my brain that could easy skip off into LaLa land and never think to leave a trail of breadcrumbs, but happily continue on aimlessly taking pleasure in the newness of it all. I tapped into the Pollyanna part of my brain that heard less about the needles and nausea and more about the “sleep as much as often as you need/like” and “forget fashion, wear the softest, most comfy clothes ever”. If you ask the staff at the SD Cancer center they’ll tell you that there were only a couple times in the year and a half they knew me that they ever saw me down. For the most part I was able to tap into that reserve to keep my sense of well being on an even keel.
And I did ask myself what I could do to leave my mark on this world. What could I do to make a small difference, a positive imprint? Part of the answer was to NOT leave a big mess for the rest of my friends/family to clean up. So, I got my affairs in order, wrote out a will and took a huge load of clothes and stuff I never use to the Goodwill. I also went back into the studio and recorded two more of my songs. That was the most I could afford to do at the time and besides, I wanted to leave the task of recording the rest of the songs in the “something to look forward to” department. Last, but not least I shared my all my new found wisdom with my friend Deb and her mom who encouraged me to write out more which led to the book, “The C Card and Me” Every time I see a picture posted on the c card facebook page of someone holding my book or get an email or a posting from someone telling me they read it and how much it meant to them I just well up with happiness and at the confirmation that I did the right thing. It’s my bliss and abundance.
So, those are the correlations I found between my laws and Deepak’s. Maybe you’ll see some others in there and feel free to shout em out here if you do, but I will say it was an interesting treasure hunt that Dr. P. sent me on, that’s for sure and I thank her for it.
12 days and counting down until I get to start the first of the adventures I’ve been looking forward to. Can’t wait to experience it. Can’t wait to share it with you all. Be sure to check The C Card and me facebook page then for pictures and updates~
